An Evening of Soul in Honor of Black History Month

Dust those dancing shoes off and head down to Navy Pier for An Evening of Soul in honor of Black History Month on Thursday, February 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Crystal Gardens! Take your partner by the hand and get ready for a night of fun on the dance floor!
Celebrate Chicago’s soul scene with an unforgettable night starting with line dancing to kick-off the celebration from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by some live music by Joan Colasso from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. and Avain Hightower and Full Circle from 7:15 to 8 p.m.

Joan Colasso is an Emmy-Award winner and Chicago native. Her music combines jazz, R&B, blues and gospel like no other, and has been enjoyed by audiences from around the world.

Avain Hightower began their professional career in the 1970s with The Scott Brothers. From the 1980’s through 2005, Avain Hightower toured with a number of different music groups and singers including: The Chi-Lites, Marvin Gaye, The Delfonics and The O’Jays. It wasn’t until 2005 that Avain Hightower formed the band Full Circle and has been mesmerizing audiences everywhere with their high-energy performances and soothing tones ever since.

An Evening of Soul in honor of Black History Month is the perfect opportunity to spend time with the important people in your life. There’s nothing better than spending time with family and friends while listening to some great soul music!

Oh, and did we forget to mention that admission is free? That’s right, completely FREE! And if that isn’t cool enough there’s a special parking rate for the Navy Pier garages after 5 p.m.! Only $10! So bring the family and a few friends along and dance your worries away.
