Whether you’re listening in on a presenter, meeting one of the nation’s best chefs or passing along your passion to the next generation of gardener, you’ll get inspired, educated and motivated at the 2014 Chicago Flower & Garden Show, presented by Mariano’s, March 15-23, here at Navy Pier.

This fresh, new show – “Do Green. Do Good.” – is a great way to ring in spring. Daily, hours of experts will share their tips and tricks in the show’s seminar series, on the Gardening Live and Garden Gourmet stages, in the How-to Garden, Kids’ Activity Garden, and feature gardens and in the show’s Marketplace.

Have a tricky gardening dilemma? Bring your photos and questions, for expert one-on-one advice. The Chicago Botanic Garden can help at their plant information booth, where staff and trained volunteers identify plants or pests, choose the right varieties or solve any garden conundrum. University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners will also set up a station to offer solid, research-based answers to even the toughest gardening question.

Want to learn how to make the perfect floral arrangement? Get instant gratification from container gardening? Learn from Tu Bloom – one of the industry’s best designers – in the show’s exclusive make-and-take workshops. Classes will be held daily at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. plus 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

The show’s Gardening Live stage will help you spring ahead, with up close and personal instruction you can use at your own home with ease. They’ll be hosting talented presenters from the Chicago Botanic Garden, who will tackle topics from pruning to seed saving to terrariums. William Moss, host of HGTV’s “Dig In” will showcase do-able landscape projects that result in dramatic transformations. John Gidding – architect, designer and host of HGTV’s popular do-it-yourself programs “Curb Appeal” and “Curb Appeal: The Block” – will provide practical ideas and tips for transforming your home’s street side appearance from “dated” to “daring.” Shawna Coronado, an author, blogger and experienced spokesperson with green lifestyle and organic gardening experience, will reveal how one gardener truly can make a difference for a community.

The 2014 Chicago Flower & Garden Show, presented by Mariano’s is shaping up to be the most motivational, educational and inspirational show yet! See the show before its doors open to the public at Evening in Bloom, an exclusive preview benefit, Friday, March 14 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Navy Pier’s Festival Hall. Through March 14, you can order discounted tickets online and save $2 off the box office price with no service fees. Groups of 20 or more receive $4 off the box office price when ordering online.

Returning this year, the Navy Pier trolley will serve visitors on the show’s opening and closing weekends. “Do Green. Do Good.” with this fun and convenient ride to the Pier.
