Build-A-Bear at Navy Pier

Everybody has memories of a favorite stuffed animal growing up, but how many of us got to design our own furry friends? The Build-A-Bear Workshop at Navy Pier in Chicago lets visitors take a hands-on approach to the entire bear-building process!

With summer ending, really what could be better than spending an afternoon of family fun in the Build-A-Bear Workshop making a special friend to cuddle with on those soon-to-be cold winter nights?

Not just bears, but much more!

Plus, the Workshop at Navy Pier offers far more than just bears; with over 30 different animal friends to choose from, including classic teddy bears, elephants, and my personal favorite, the seriously adorable King Penguins, there’s bound to be someone special that every boy and girl can’t wait to bring home.

Build-A-Bear is easy as 1, 2, 3… 4

The friendly employees at Build-A-Bear lead you step-by-step from start to finish:

1. One of the most difficult parts of all: choosing your new friend.

2. Making a wish on the little heart that’s placed inside your friend.

3. Always lots of fun: watching your friend almost magically rise with stuffing.

4. Picking out accessories for your friend from the hundreds of options lining the Workshop’s walls. And you can even add a special voice-recorded message that plays with each and every hug!

Decisions, decisions…what kind of friend to make?

So what kind of a friend will you make? A pretty, pretty ballerina bear in a flouncy pink tutu? An elephant ready to hit the baseball diamond in his uniform and cap? How about a pony all dressed up for Halloween in his Darth Vader costume complete with lightsaber? The possibilities are endless and so are the adventures awaiting you and your new stuffed pal.

Head on over to Navy Pier and start stuffing!
