Navy Pier has plenty of fun and exciting things happening now that can help cool you off this summer.  It is located right by Lake Michigan and is Chicago’s most visited tourist site so look no further for fun!

As an intern at Navy Pier, I have been exposed to many great restaurants at the Pier. My two favorite restaurants are City Porch and Margaritaville, which both have indoor and outdoor seating.  City Porch is a very relaxed restaurant with good food (try their lamb sliders!) and when relaxing at Margaritaville, I feel like I am back at college again. Their appetizers are great and the drinks are even better.

Have a craving for some ice cream? Some of my favorite places to get something cold at Navy Pier are Haagen Dazs, Ben & Jerry’s and the Italian Ice cart located on Dock Street.  These three places take me back to my childhood and are definitely a good treat on a hot summer day.  My favorite has to be strawberry ice cream in a waffle cone at Haagen Dazs and I also love their dazzlers.

Navy Pier also has many souvenir shops that can help you cherish that feeling of your visit to Navy Pier.  One of the main stores I like called The Sports Store is located at the front of the Pier where they have many items from all Chicago sports teams.  I am a big Bulls fan and recently purchased a license plate cover from there to show off my team spirit.  I also like the hat shop because it is a cool place to just hang out and goof around with your friends with funny looking hats.  Navy Pier just gets better by the day and will remain a great place to travel to for summer fun.
