Bell’Italia | Neighborhoods of the World

Bell’Italia | Neighborhoods of the World“When in Rome,” or should we say, “When on Taylor Street.” Although Chicago is thousands of miles from Italy, we’re proud to have a little taste of Italian culture right here on Taylor Street AND at Navy Pier this Sunday during Neighborhoods of the World!

If you’ve never been to Taylor Street, now’s the time for you and the family to experience “Little Italy” right here at Navy Pier. This Sunday, February 17, Navy Pier’s Crystal Gardens will debut this year’s first Neighborhoods of the World celebration, Bell’Italia, from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m, allowing Chicago to experience a taste of Italian culture, free of charge.

Don’t miss the chance to see Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino perform live in the Crystal Gardens! This high energy seven-piece band will share its take on Southern Italian music and dance during three performances at 12:10, 1:30 and 3 p.m! The bella musica will put you in the mood for some scrumptious Italian delicacies, courtesy of Taste of Tuscany by Phil Stefani, and shopping. Check out the display of traditional gifts from the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans. Viva Italia!

Not only will Navy Pier give Chicago the chance to experience Italian culture this Sunday, but during future Sundays through February, March and the beginning of April, visitors will be able to experience many other cultures that make our city so vibrant. Learn a little about your neighbors and take away a new appreciation for what makes us all so different and so similar.

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, or in future weekends to come, the Neighborhoods of the World celebration at Navy Pier is more than happy to provide you with a free afternoon of cultural fun!
