IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Competition at Navy Pier

IGI Chicago Style Competition returns to Navy Pier! The Illinois Gymnastics Institute isare one of the newest and largest training facilities in Illinois and it offers a safe and fun training environment for children of all ages. The competition is the largest women’s gymnastics invitational meet in the world.

Over 98% of ALL IGI graduates have received full-tuition scholarships for gymnastics. These include our Elite athletes, and our Junior Olympic athletes, for not only have we consistently excelled in the International scene, but also at the National level. In 2000 and in 2004 we qualified more athletes to the J.O. National Championships than any other program in the U.S

 

IGI Chicago Competition Format:

Modified Capital Cup

There are six (6) gyms set up within the Festival Halls A and B:

“State Street Gym”, “Lake Shore Drive Gym”, “Michigan Ave. Gym”, “Rush Street Gym”, “Wacker Gym” and “LaSalle Gym”.

These “gyms” define the different competition areas within the Navy Pier facility.

There are three sessions per gym each day with the following schedule:

Open Stretch/Warm-up: 8:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5 p.m.

Timed Warm-up: 8:20 a.m., 12:50 p.m., and 5:20 p.m.

Competition follows the Timed Warm-ups.

Teams are designated in advance by the coaches, with the following guidelines:

Compulsories : 5- Gymnast Team, Top 4 scores count.

Optionals : 4- Gymnast Team, Top 3 scores count.

AAI and Midwest Eagle Equipment.
