IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet | Navy Pier

IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet | Navy Pier Who can forget the amazing gold medal win by the American Women’s Gymnastics Team at this past summer’s London Olympics?!? If you’re still caught up in gymnastics fever like we are then you won’t want to miss this weekend’s 15th Annual IGI Chicago Style Gymnastics Meet at Navy Pier. And it’s not any old meet; this one’s the biggest women’s gymnastics invitational in the world!

The IGI Chicago Style Meet runs from February 8-10 all day long. Come by early at 8 a.m. to catch the Session 1 morning competition or come by after lunch for some midday action during Session 2. And, you guessed it, the ladies will be back at nighttime for Session 3, completing tumbling passes and daring vaults that will leave your heart in your mouth!

Over 4,000 gymnasts will compete during the weekend, representing teams from all over the U.S. Marvel at the talent of the youngest Level 4 gymnasts and the finesse of the Elite gymnasts as they put their best foot forward on their chosen apparatus in one of six gyms set up around Festival Hall!

Of course the competition really heats up when awards and big cash prizes are at stake. Individual Event and All-Around winners will be recognized within each age group and Team Awards for Levels 1 through 4 will be presented at the end of each day. Level 8-10 and Elite teams have the most to gain by claiming one of the top three spots; if they place first, second, or third, they could take home anywhere from $250-$1000!

Additionally, the top-ranking junior and senior gymnasts will qualify for the prestigious Nastia Liukin Cup Series in March and have a chance to follow in the footsteps of a real gymnastics superstar.

Plus, you can show your support for the Special Olympics of Illinois by coming out on Friday night for a special gymnastics exhibition immediately before the NCAA meet. Don’t forget to stop by the Special Olympics raffle booth to pick up your tickets for the weekend’s gift basket raffle.

So if you’re ready for some high-flying action from the future gymnasts of Team USA, make sure you head to the Pier this weekend!
