Happy summer, Chicago! We know you’ve been dreaming of warm days at the beach and fun in the sun, and believe us, there will be plenty of time for that.
But summer is also the perfect time to buckle down and begin looking for new opportunities, especially if you’re out there in the job market.
That’s why Navy Pier is hosting the PSI Professional Career & Technology Fair on June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Numerous exhibitors and companies will be looking for new talent to join their ranks so come out to the Lakeview Terrace for a day filled with networking! Past and current exhibitors include Ace Hardware Corporation, Metra, Northwestern University, Obama For America, Prudential, and WGN-TV, just to name a few.
This event is FREE and open to all job seekers that have a minimum 4-year degree from a college or university. There are no appointments necessary, so feel free to stop by and spend a little bit of time or a lot of time speaking with employers in a comfortable, open-house environment.
If you’re planning on attending, here are a few tips:
1) We definitely suggest visiting employer websites and applying for jobs before the fair. This will assist you in your conversations day-of and prove to employers that you are serious about their company.
2) Bring a resume! Need we say more?
3) Come prepared with a 30-second pitch. When presenting yourself to an employer, don’t simply state, “I’m looking for a job.” That’s the common goal of everyone attending, right? Instead, speak about who you are, what your goals are, and the skills and expertise you bring to the table. This will be sure to leave an impression!
