The Best of Fall | Navy Pier

Navy Pier is known as Chicago’s lakefront playground, a nickname we take a lot of pride in. But we’re not just Chicago’s lakefront playground during the summertime. We host fun, family-oriented events throughout the entire year and now’s the perfect time to visit.

Not only is the weather great and the Pier hopping, but it’s the last time to experience many of the great rides at Pier Park before they close for the season.

Come by to get one last swing on the Wave Swinger. Hold on tight as you’re hoisted fourteen feet in the air and whipped around at a thrilling speed. Not that much of a daredevil? Then keep your feet a little more firmly planted on the ground with the Musical Carousel. Pick one of 36 hand-painted animals and settle in for a gentle ride.

Do you like to take things at a more leisurely pace? Then our 18-hole Miniature Golf Course may be your scene. Each hole is Chicago-themed so not only will you get in a game of mini-golf, but you’ll also get a mini tour of the city!

And, of course, there’s the famous Navy Pier Ferris wheel. This ride is actually open year-round because we know just how much visitors love the view of the city skyline from the top.

Tickets for any Pier Park rides can be purchased online. And if one ride just isn’t enough, multi-ride tickets can be purchased for individuals or families at a lower rate!

If you’re looking for more fun and thrills, Navy Pier’s got them! Spend some time in our Amazing Chicago Funhouse Maze (just try not to get lost in the Mirror Maze) or stop by the Chicago Children’s Museum with its wonderful hands-on activities for kids, young and old.

For art lovers, there’s the immense one-of-a-kind Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows and a special exhibition called BIGart, which brings together big names in art who’ve made big outdoor sculptures.

And of course any long visit will leave a person a little peckish so make sure to set aside time for a snack or meal.  We’ve got tons of restaurants that are sure to hit the spot. And if you’ve still got room later, just a reminder that there’s an ice cream treat with your name on it at Haagen-Dazs or Ben & Jerry’s!

Our outdoor areas are open year-round although our restaurants are no longer doing outdoor dining. Make sure you stop by the Ferris wheel for a ride!
